The One
The things a person says may differ greatly from the things that person does. When it comes to conveying interest, affection, caring, and eventually love, I knew my husband was the one for me based on his actions, as described below.
The one who opens the car door for you, from the outside. He doesn’t merely lean over from the driver’s seat to throw your door out to you — he unlocks the car, holds the door open, and gently brushes your coat or your purse strap safely inside the vehicle so the door won’t slam shut on it. This is not an action he takes as pretense on the first date — he does it on every car ride, even when it’s not convenient. It’s a habit built from respect and kindness. It is no afterthought; in fact, it’s the complete opposite. This person is telling you, through his actions, that you’re a priority.
The one who purchases a mesh shower sponge and shyly hands it to you the first time you visit his condo, saying “I don’t think these are easy to pack for travel, so I thought you may want to have one here.”
