My 2022 Gratitude List

Reflections on a year that brought some high and low moments.

Sharing a list of things I’m grateful for is my annual tradition. Read previous year’s lists here: (2021) (2020).

One quick note: this is my own personal list which reflects my unique privilege. I acknowledge the circumstances that created my privilege don’t extend beyond my own individual experience. Not many others can understand or relate to the privilege that is solely my own.

I am grateful to have health insurance.

I am grateful that, although my cancer recurred this spring, it did not spread.

I am grateful that I have such an exceptional team of doctors on my side.

I am grateful that I brought the children’s picture book I’ve talked about making for over 15 years, A Friend For Milton, into the world in 2022. The experience of publishing the book was unlike anything I’ve done before. I’m proud of the book and seeing little ones meet Milton and read his story has been an absolute joy.

I am grateful that I discovered the podcast You’re Wrong About and its exceptional back catalog of informative and entertaining episodes about historical events and/or people that, at some point, were misinterpreted by society. The series about the O.J. Simpson trial…
