I had to read the original comment a few times, and had the same takeaway as you. If he's the one using the car, and presumably paying for it, it's also in the guy's best interest to refinance so the ex wife can't be like "hey thanks for the car!" and take possession once it's paid for. How is the ex wife in the wrong here? The timing is shitty but her anger is justified.
