Gaslighting means sowing self-doubt in a person and trying to convince them that what they know to be true is not actually true. Doctors and medical professionals are aware that Covid is still killing people and that people who contract the virus continue to be at risk of suffering from long Covid, yet they are choosing to remove protections that would keep the most vulnerable safe. Then, they make those of us who are cautious question our decisions to remain vigilant by downplaying the virus or saying we can move about in the world more freely now. That is textbook gaslighting.
